organ failure i don't believe?!

Question: Organ failure i don't believe?
Hi i have been told that my mum is dying of organ failure and only has weeks to live. the Macmillan nurses have moved her into her bungalow with no carpets or decorating as this is where my mum wants to be but i have been told not to spend money on the house as i will need it for the funeral but she looks fine and acts fine what things do i need to look for as i am having real problems believing this as i was told she had hours to live 2 years ago because of a bleed.

Answers:

i think you should take her to another doctor and get a second opinion. or speak to the doctors treating her at the moment and tell them your concerns, basically tell them what you have said here.

ask for proof, if she is dyeing of organ failure then there must be test results that they can show you to prove it. isnt she on a transplant list? most people who go into organ failure end up on a transplant waiting list

edit:
the signs will probably start showing themselves in a couple weeks as the time gets closer. make sure she is on pain killers so she doesn't feel anything. im sorry that this is happening to your mother and you. spend as much time with her as you can, make her comfortable and happy

Consult with your Mother's doctors and ask for them to explain her blood chemistry's to you showing you elevated blood levels that are indicative for renal failure like elevated BUN, CREATININE, etc. For liver failure AST, ALT (SGOT< SGPT), Alkaline Phosphatase, etc. Chemistry's for Heart Failure, Lung inefficiency. Get details proving to you that there exists real problems and not just a "Trust Me" explanation. There have to be concrete tests results that have lead to her doctors opinions. Ask her doctors to show you and explain to you. Get informed and of course if they can not do this get her to another doctor and another facility.
