What should I do if my authorities require to persuade patients with mild illnes!

Question: What should I do if my authorities require to persuade patients with mild illness to have inpatient treatment?
I fell guilty to persuade patients with only mild diseases to have inpatient treatment, but our authorities require us to do so. At least the policies they formulated encourage so, as they always give more prize to those who are able to admit more patients into the hospital, no matter what diseases the patients have. Sometime they are even able to persuade patients with moderate alopecia areata, or quite mild eczema.
I don't would like so, but I will be criticized and have less income.

What should I do?

Answers:

It is a question of ethics. If you are a care health professional, your primary duty is to provide effective treatment for the patient. You also serve the patient more broadly by not taking advantage of their vulnerable position and charging for unnecessary treatment and services. Generally, the least services required that will provide effective treatment is the way to go. Your fees and those of the institution through which you are treating the patient should be fair and never "padded". I DO think it is important to not UNDER estimate the level of service required...and thereby risk the patient's well-being by providing too little service, but use your best skills as a diagnostician (and consult with others when necessary) to diagnose and treat in the most efficient and effective manner.

If in your judgment your employer demands that you behave in a manner that you believe is unethical, you might want to consult with your state's licensing authorities regarding this situation.

If you are a health care professional, your compensation becomes a secondary issue: you will do best, and represent your profession best if you become good at providing quality health care to whoever needs it regardless of how well they pay. If, on the other hand, it's all about the money for you then you are in the wrong field and I suggest you become a Republican politician instead.
