What do they do for allergy tests?!

Question:

What do they do for allergy tests?

I think I have allergies but I am scared of needles and I was told that is how they do them...is there any other way??

Answers:

I had one done a couple weeks ago and was a bit nervous about it. When I was little they did it with a bunch of needles, but they weren't deep shots, just placed under the skin (But still! Any kind of shot sucks). However, now they use a plastic contraption with little prongs. I was a bit skeptical at first, but really, it just feels like someone is pressing a pine cone up against your arm. It didn't hurt at all. The only part that was miserable about the test is they do that and then set a timer and tell you that they'll be back in 14 min and not to scratch, hah, yea right. It's really not bad at all, nothing compared to the way it used to be. And, it's all over in half an hour tops. Don't fret! You'll be just fine.
