Right side of body bigger than left?!

Question:

Right side of body bigger than left?

My right side is considerably larger than left. My eye, hand, nose, foot, and hip. I am not deformed looking. No one would probably notice but it is there. seems to be getting worse on my nose as I age..I am 30 and female. My feet are the worst 2 sizes apart. Is this normal?

Answers:

Despite the popular misconceptions to the contrary, the human body is not symetrical. While the body is bilaterally symetrical, this does not mean that your assorted body parts will be the same size. In the case of the feet, this difference is typically no more than a half size. Many women can also see this with their chest, with one breast being slightly larger. Not enough to require a custom bra, but enough so that one cup seems less tight than the other.

If it is not something you are uncomfortable with it, don't be too concerned (although, you may want to make the acquaintance of a good cobbler for a pair or three of custom shoes), especially if it isn't easily noticable.

If you are uncomfortable with it, you will need to dress to camouflage the differences, while acentuating what you want the eye drawn to. The nose and eyes can have their differences camounflaged with an expert touch of make-up (you may want to talk to a professional to learn how to do it with the least make-up possible).

As for your last question...Is it normal...almost. Everyone is different right to left...it has something to do with one's "handed-ness", and environmental factors, both pre and post-natal. If you are right handed, the tone (and size) of muscle on the right side of the body will be slightly better/larger than the left.

Edit: Getting worse: Note that as you age, your cartilage will continue to grow. This means that (primarily) your ears and nose will continue to grow. Since the halves of your nose are of different sizes to start with, it will seem as thouhg one side is growing faster than the other. If this is found to be bothersome at a later date, you can try rhinoplasty, although there are risks and drawbacks there as well.
