How to adapt to living with Crohns disease?!

Question: How to adapt to living with Crohns disease?
All the things i wanted to do, i cant do anymore. I'm 20 and still doing A Levels. I wanted to go to university away from home, and i wanted to have done lots of things by now. I acquired Crohns disease 2 years ago and im in pain almost everyday, sometimes walking hurts, i have no life no friends no car no job and sometimes i just dont see the point in living anymore, when i know as i get older things are just going to get worse. Right now, i cant stop crying. I know im just feeling sorry for myself because i imagined my life at 20 to be somewhat different. Help?

I recommend reading The Last Lecture. This man had a family and knew he was going to die in 6 months. He lived his life to the fullest and full of happiness. Don't ever feel sorry for yourself, you're still living breathing are you?

we have all this ability with goo, science, med mistakes, docs wisdom... Crohn's... not cure yet! ... tricky... - - special treatments to eliminate effects of that disease... (s7hummel@yahoo)

Hello,

I am being tested for Crohn's. Whatever I have has left me to having no social life, I am not allowed to go to school or anything like that. It really does suck. In my opinion, you just have to stay as positive as you can. Everything happens for a reason, we may not see the reason now; but, later in life we are supposed to see the reason for everything that we have questioned. This will only make you a stronger person in life. I don't know if you are on any medicine for it? I am assuming you are, maybe call the doctor and ask if there is anything else he/she can give you, that will help. I know you said you wanted to go to a university; but, maybe you could take online courses? Maybe get a job working from home, as well. I know at 20, you want to go out with friends and have a fun and enjoyable time and live your life to the fullest. That is going to be a challenge, I think, as of right now. Maybe have your friends come to your place? Also, find some good music you like. Music is a great thing to have, when you are just in that blah mood. I am sure there are support groups also online, with people living with this same terrible illness, maybe try to join one of them and talk to somebody on there. I think if you were talking to someone who is going through the same thing, they may be able to relate to you better, than someone on Yahoo Answers. I have heard Crohn's is terrible stuff to live with and it does impact your life drastically. I am very sorry you are going through this, as well. Just try to keep your head up!

I wish you the best.
