If it needs treatment (usually not the case), beta blockers can control (but not cure) sinus tach. As soon as the BB are stopped, unless the cause of the ST has resolved, it will recur.
Someone with persistent ST should be evaluated looking for its cause. It's usually benign, but things like anemia and elevated thyroid hormone level should be checked for.
