Question: Is this an STI? Is it HIV?
I had unprotected sex (oral as well) last week, it was a silly mistake and I was very drunk. Two days later I noticed a strange odor down below... and the day after that I developed a very sore throat, fatigue, and achy muscles. The odor is still there, and this is 5 days after. I have booked an appointment to get tested, but until then I'm going mad as I have no idea what this could be. I'm thinking it could be HIV because I've seen that it includes flu-like symptoms which is what I have. Any ideas? :(

It sounds like you have bacterial vaginosis (BV), which isn't an STI nor is it HIV. It just occurs when there's an overgrowth of bad bacteria that naturally resides in the vagina. Sometimes women can have it without the odor. I've had it myself and it's really annoying. For a while, I inserted tampons covered in yogurt in my vagina to alleviate the bad smell, but the BV kept coming back.
The best thing to do is get some medicine. Unfortunately, there are no over-the-counter treatments. You will have to get a prescription for metronidazole or clindamycin. BV can also reoccur after treatment is over.
Before you get tested, ask if they will check for bacterial vaginosis too.
