What type of doctor does desensitization?!
Question: What type of doctor does desensitization?
I get very bad hay fever all year round because of all types of things...all grass seeds, house dust, my own dead skin (I had that test done with the little drops on your arm), the list goes on. I have to take antihistamines every day and sometimes not even that helps. I'm sick of people asking me if I'm sick because I sound stuffy from all the sneezing and the running, itchy nose. I want to get desensitized, but don't know which doctor to go to? GP? ear nose and throat? homeopath? Someone else? Please help, after over 10 years of this I can't take it anymore!!

An allergist is the one who does desensitization. I had the shots. My series lasted nine years. It took two years before I could see any improvement. However, I stuck with the shots and they did me a tremendous amount of good. Now I don't even need antihistamines.
