can toothpaste be used as an acne treatment?!

Question: Can toothpaste be used as an acne treatment?
Ive heard about it, i just wanna make sure.

Answers:

Yes, toothpaste is often used as a cheap spot treatment. Just put some on, leave it for a while and wipe off. I don't know why it works but it does. :)

No toothpaste can cause skin irritation, to get rid of acne:
-Try not to pick
-Wash your face with clean water once a day
-Do not overload on junk food and fizzy drinks (don't ban it, but don't have too much)
Also a lot of Milk in the diet can cause an increase in spots, so don't drink too much

If you're really unhappy, laser treatments are available to cure, however they are quite painful.
Hope I helped (:

No, I would love to know where this fallacious urban myth originated. You could try one of the many over the counter cleanser/degreasers, most are based on peroxide, Panoxyl is a typical example. If this fails the next step is to see your GP for topical or oral antibiotics. Avoid tetracycline and oxytetracyline as they are awkward to take and not very effective, minocycline or lymecycline are better.

GP for more years than I care to remember

I have used toothpaste on my zits, not so much for acne. It dries it out faster. My step daughter has used everything under the sun........
juice from a room temp potato
peroxide
alcohol
witch hazel

Best thing she found was Murad Acne set....expensive but well worth it.

It can be, if you just apply it to the pimple and let it sit for overnight it's suppose to reduce the pimple. It didn't work for me, but I have heard other people have luck with it.

not toothpaste itself but flouride yes it can be.
