I'm around kids alot, and now I have lice how do I prevent this?
I babysit everyday, and I have caught lice from one of the little girls I babysit. How do I prevent this from happening again?
Answers:
Explain to the parent that you expect them to take all precautions to make sure that the child doesn't bring lice into your home again. And that if there should be a repeat of this incident, then you will have to refuse to sit the child.
It is the responsibility of all of us to clean our environments properly when parasites are found. NONE of us want to deal with repeated infestations of these. And although there is not the stigma surrounding head lice anymore, that there was when I was young, it is still enough of an issue to make my skin crawl!!
Did you know that the newest generations of head lice are becoming RESISTANT to all chemicals we use to kill them? What are we going to do when they have evolved into a pandemic like cockroaches?
