Question: For 10 points! What can you take to stop farting and feeling ill?
I have problems with farting in class and I always feel ill all the time.
I am asking my mother for a doctor's appointment as it has been going on for four weeks now.
It will be some time before my appointment, so for the time being, I want to know what you guys do to make yourselves feel well again if you have a bit of wind?
I read on another question that some people nibble on a biscuit.
Someone suggested lying down and relaxing but I cannot do that becuase most of the time I will be at school.
Does Beano help? I haven't a clue what it is but I read that on another question, too.

You need to think about WHY you are having sudden gas.
If you have not had antibiotics recently (it upsets the gut flora) and if you are not eating alot of the usual suspects (broccoli, beans, etc.) then you need to consider other things, such as lactose intolerance. What you can do for now is to cut down on dairy. As we age we produce less lactase (the enzyme that breaks down milk sugars). BUT do eat more hard cheese and yogurt to make up for the calcium you will miss by not drinking milk! (hard cheese aged over 3 months has minimal to no lactose) . If you cut that out and are still having issues, I would STRONGLY suggest that you get tested for Celiac disease. If you ARE lactose intolerant, be aware that it is one of the first red flags of celiac disease aka gluten intolerance. 1/300 people are celiacs, it is horribly underdiagnosed, especially in the US (for some reason in the past our doctors here have been told it is rare or a european disease... uh, NOT).
Beano will only help if the usuals (broccoli and beans) are being consumed...



Well eating something that's easy on your stomach helps like soup or bread a good way to relieve gas is to use the rest room. rubbing my stomack helps me when i have a upset stomack .or something for a upset stomack like medicine . if your not eating breakfast that could be why you feel ill or it could be what your eating something like porage is good or cereal,toast,a apple goodluck.



Gas x or tums and drink lots of water to flush your system



I can understand this can be a very uncomfortable situation for a lot of reasons, but I'm sure that between seeing a doctor and finding solutions yourself, you'll be able to find something that works.

GasX will inhibit passing gas, Phazyme will actually cause you to pass gas, quickly, and hopefully all in one go. You can try Phazyme before school and GasX just before you leave for school. If you come home for lunch, likewise you can use Phazyme again then, then GasX before you head back to class.

Another thing is that intestinal gas is most often caused by normal bacteria in your intestines breaking down foods, but especially sugars: refined sugar like table sugar and the sugar found in sodas, cereals, candy, etc., and simple carbohydrates like those found in white breads and pasta. As a result these foods will often cause gas for some people. Try to cut these out of your diet, but still see a Gastroenterologist or have your family doctor refer you to one.
