Is it ever okay to remove milia yourself?!

Question: Is it ever okay to remove milia yourself?
I have one milia (singular form spelling?) between the inner corner of my eye and my nose, closer to the nose. Because I'm only 15, I'm worried that I'll be stuck with it for quite a while. With my dad laid-off from work, we don't have the money to see a doctor to have it extracted, and I don't even know how much it begins to cost. I've seen a couple videos on Youtube of the process. I'm very comfortable dealing with my skin, very aware of changes and I try to take good care of it. I've heard of ways to reduce the issue, but since it's in an inconvenient spot I think it would be irritated after a while.

I don't usually do something that could be dangerous like this, but that's why the question is "Is it ever okay...?" Even if I very carefully prick the milia with a sterilized needle and squeeze between two Q-tips?

Answers:

I have done it and it was no big deal. If you have a steady hand and point any sharp object away from your eye you should be fine. It will make your eye water like heck, and sometimes you have to jab it more than once, but if it is fairly surface it should come on out. It looks like a sesame seed when removed.
