My three year old is allergic to grass.............?
i have all the aquaphor's and balms and they do help. the doctor said keep him off the grass, duh..........
it's only bad while he's in the yard. he breaks out and scratches himself. it's no problem through his clothes but it's summer and the minute we get home he strips and want's to go in the sprinkler. he has a wading pool, too and gets all sorts of grass in it. the itching and bumps clear up about half an hour after he comes in.
he never complains and he even understands that the grass makes him itchy. my question is.........how dangerous is it for me to let him play in the yard and break out? he has a wetsuit that he wears at the beach, but at home he want's to be naked. doesn't even want his shorts on. i'd hate to make this a power struggle if i don't have to. i'd rather make a big deal out of watching tv or eating too much junk, not playing outside. maybe there's a sunscreen that could help. we use coppertone.

I am allergic to grass, and it's not that bad, If it's real bad I take benydral. AND like you said, it goes away in 20-30 minutes.
YOUR child understands the grass causes the rash?
Then it's up to you and your child to negociate this one.
I would simply ask the doctor for the best seasonal allergy otc medication for his allergery to grass. He's gonna have to deal with it!
**I also heard that eatting the local honey made by the local bees in your area will help these allergies go away!!
*i have allergies, take allergy meds, and it's worth it to roll in the grass!!! (scratch! bumps and all)

**if there is no weezing or sneezing or coughing, only bumbs,, then it's not too bad.
****IF the child were weezing and asmatic I would keep them away from the grass, or ask the doctor about allergy shots for the grass allergy.
Grass is everywhere, why not get this allergery treated once and for all with injections nasally, for a short period of time!
