Is this herpes, a rash, or infection (from sunburned lips)?!


Question:

Is this herpes, a rash, or infection (from sunburned lips)?

My boyfriend's lips got sunburned badly. They started peeling, cracking, bleeding, and blistering. He has a couple of sores on and around them. Are those cold sores- herpes? I've heard that sunburn can trigger cold sores. Or could this just simply be an infection or rash from being sunburned?
