Overreactive sweat glands?!

Question:

Overreactive sweat glands?

My armpits especially sweat so much! I it. I've tried wearing two shirts, so it doesn't show, but that's almost worse in the heat of Arizona. You know, 120-odd degrees Fahrenheit. I don't really mind, I just don't want it to show. Does anyone have a solution, please? It's really gross, I know, but I got my father's genes when it has to deal with sweat glands. Anti-perspirant doesn't work. At least, not Suave. I really need help with this. It is most embarrrassing. Thank you.

Answers:

I have the same problem, it is called Hyperhidrosis. If you want more information, you can google it or look on WebMD.com. I would try to do this stuff in this order, because I have had it for 2 years and the treatment goes like this:

1) Try Certain Dri. It can be bought at any drug store, and it is 6 dollars. The box with green trimming is the anti-perspirant, and the box with blue trimming is the deodorant. You should buy both, it is like a 2-step system- one stops sweating and the other helps you smell good. You apply it at night and it may sting alittle, but it works a lot better than regular antiperspirants.

2) If that doesn't work, you should go to the dermatologist. They will prescribe an even stronger antiperspirant, like Drysol, and maybe some pills. The pills work best.

3) If that doesn't work, there are Botox injections. They help to disable the sweat glands for like 6-12 months, depending on how bad your sweating is.

4) The last step is surgery (although I doubt you will have to go past the 2nd step on here). This is supposed to be permanent, but it does not work for all people. And there are risks with surgery.

That is how treatment goes, from small solutions to more drastic ones. You probably won't need the injections or surgery, but I wrote that incase you needed the information. Don't feel bad or be embarassed, it is actually a common problem and I know how you feel because I have the same problem! I hope this helps and I hope everything works out for you! =)
