Question:

hi, my names eddie.i know it is vitiligo because i have all known symptoms and such. im really self concious of it and i really want to get rid of it. i have it on my back, both knees, eye lids, forehead, small bit on cheek, butt, hips, right about my nails. i would love is someome could help me out with honesty and tell me what to do to get rid of it. its just so frusterating. i just hope it doesnt spread because currently it isnt horrible but if it gets much worse it will be so hard to go in public. i also worry about my hair on my head to turn white. i have long hair so it would be noticable. any help greatly appreciated and i just want to get rid of this stuff.

Answers:

You need to consult a doctor and get properly diagnosed. Then you need to work with him/her on how to treat, if in fact it is treatable. I found this article interesting, but I suspect you've read up on the subject already.

Don't rely on YA for a treatment plan; get professional help medically -- both physically and mentally -- to help you cope with this affliction.

From what I can tell, this is incurable, but many people deal with it by using self-tanners, get tatoos, and the like. Here is a link to a success story by a National Vice President in my company that has vitiligo and uses our company's self tanning products:

Something like this might help. You can check it out online, or PM me if you'd like additional information.
