this isn't something that i'm worried about, because no one close to me smokes. i'm just curious, because if second hand can get you as sick as first hand, why couldn't you get addicted as well?

Studies have recently tried to prove that one can become 'addicted' from 2nd hand smoke, however, I fail to see the results from these studies they are doing. Growing up around my Grandmother (who was a heavy, heavy smoker) and my Uncle who also smoked, I have always been exposed to 2nd hand smoke ever since I was 2. Now I am 21 and have NEVER had a cigarette! That's the proof that one does not become addicted to nicotine from 2nd hand smoke. Just be aware that if you are around avid smokers a lot, studies HAVE proved that you can get lung cancer from processing the smoke just as much as the person that is smoking around you!
