When your in the ER and the sound comes from your room or their computer what is that? they come right away??
its a loud sound. i was hooked up to heart monitor and finger and blood pressure. what is it? i got scared.
Answers:
Most of the time you are hooked up the monitor which is reading your heart rate, O2 saturations, and your blood pressure. The monitor is set to certain limits like your O2 sat can't get below 95% or it will sound, or your heart rate can't get above 100or it will sound (each hospital has different numbers they set thier alarms for). With these sounds the patient could have changes and there for it is something to need to look at. You should not be scared, the monitors are not always correct and you obvisouly were fine, but that it what was going off.
