Question:

Adrenal Fatigue / Exhaustion. Does anybody know what foods / supplements would aid mild cases of this?

I think i have a mild case of the above ie: i drop dead when i go to bed only to wake 3 - 4 hrs later and stay awake, dry skin, acne, aches etc. Just wondered if before i went to waste the doctors time i could help myself with my diet?

Are you sure of the diagnosis?

Usually with adrenal fatigue, sleep is quite good in the sense that people usually sleep through the night. However, when they wake up, they do not feel refreshed.

There may be other reasons why you are waking in the night.

To make a proper diagnosis, and a proper recommendation, I would suggest that you seek advice from an experienced nutritionist or herbalist, who can make a proper assessment and recommendations.

Simple approaches, such as chamomile tea can help you sleep through the night, and other herbs may also be helpful. Herbal 'tonics' such as Ginseng - Panax Ginseng for men and Siberian Ginseng for women - can also be helpful.

Although tea / coffee can be stimulating, they can suppress the adrenal and make you more tired in the long run. Milk and dairy may be unhelpful. Foods high in essential fatty acids - particularly Starflower (high in GLA or Omega-6 essential fatty acids) may be helpful. But they will only help if the diagnosis is right.
