Is Diabetes Caused by Drinking Alcohol?!

Question: Is Diabetes Caused by Drinking Alcohol?
Answers:

Drinking excessive amounts of alcohol CAN lead to pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas), which can ultimately lead to diabetes.

I was diagnosed as diabetic last year and i am 54 year old female and I do not drink, I have had about 5 glasses of wine in the past 4 years and before that I cant remember when i had a drink, I do not enjoy the taste of alcohol and when we go out I am usually driving. I think diabetes is caused by eating the wrong foods and lack of exercise and can be genetic.

It can certainly contribute to it and other illness too. If you have diabetes any alcohol should be controlled as it certainly does not help with the condition. There are two types of diabetes, Type 1 (people are usually born with it) and Type II (usually comes on later in life)

NO! foods and drinks do not cause diabetes.

Drinking alcohol does cause liver and kidney damage, but not pancreatic damage.

Increased the risk of diabetes......so be carefull
