Is anyone using a diabetic insulin pump with the new attachable 24-7 glucose mo!

Question:

Is anyone using a diabetic insulin pump with the new attachable 24-7 glucose monitor? How do you like it ?

I'm about to get the pump and the glucose monitor. I'm curious about having both attached to my body but I've got to get my blood sugars under control and this seems like the best way to do. Thanks!!!

Answers:

I have the Minimed Insulin Pump and Detachable Glucose Sensor. I love it, when I first got it, it really got on my nerves because once the sensor detects that your blood sugar is ourside of the preset high and low ranges it alarms. This used to happen a lot but I have much better control over my glucose now and I love the pump and sensor!
Having both attached to your body is no big deal. There is a new smaller sensor out now, the first sensor was very big and had a wire on it, but now the sensor is about the size of a quarter and has no wire, its much smaller and much more comfortable! The sensor is water proof and can be worn in the pool and shower. The pump is not waterproof....... I think that you will be very pleased with the pump and sensor. Just know that you will still have to check your blood glucose at least every 12 hours to calibrate the sensor! Give it a try!! Good Luck!
