I have just read your previous post and I don't think its a drug trial but a stem cell implant.(stem cells can be grown into any part of the body)
As far as I'm aware this is where diabetics are recieving stem cells to repair there pancreas(this is the organ that doesn't work).
In the trials it worked for awhile and they didn't need to inject insulin for awhile but it eventually wore of and they had to go back to injecting insulin.
