Are Brain Tumours passed on genetically?!

Question:

Are Brain Tumours passed on genetically?

Hi there, My Darling Mum passed away at only 45, it was a reoccurring Brain Tumour that took her. Can anybody tell me if it is passed through genetics?? Am only 32 and cant help but wonder if I could possibly have the same coming. Any medical info would help me immensely.

Answers:

Only 5% of brain tumors are thought to be inherited - passed from generation to generation through the genes. Inherited brain tumors tend to be part of medical syndromes which cause not only brain tumors, but tumors in other organs of the body.

you should find out what type of tumour it was and see you doctor regarding this to see if you have a risk

Good luck x
