If my friend has viral syndrom can I get sick from it?!

Question:

If my friend has viral syndrom can I get sick from it?

Answers:

Well I'm not exactly going to answer your question because scientists don't know all the facts yet.

But they are very worried about it because the virus mutates so quickly they can't keep up. It keeps popping up in different forms, some are not very contagious, others are very contagious indeed.

Because of its quick rate of mutation and because it's symptoms are harsh, some scientists believe it has the possibility of becoming the next Spanish flu.

In some countries where there aren't a lot of Doctors and hospitals, people with viral syndrome are required by law to be quaranteened.

In some outbreaks only one or two people get ill and no one else. In some outbreaks it spreads far more quickly than normal for viral diseases. In one outbreak, 50 percent of the people who worked in the same building become ill and several died.

I really couldn't say you will get the disease for this reason. The odds are far in your favor that you won't, but it does seem to have phases when it becomes extremely contagious.

If you do happen to get ill, go see the Doctor sooner than later. It progresses a lot more rapidly than other viral diseases. One of it's symptoms is that it puts some people with respiritory problems or diabetes in a coma when left untreated for too long. That's why the articles about it mention that if you do happen to get the disease, see a Physician, don't take a chance.

There is nothing you can do about it anyway except monitor your health. If treated early enough, the disease can be usually cured.
