Use of eye saline on piercing instead of sea salt mixture?!

Question:

Use of eye saline on piercing instead of sea salt mixture?

for a healing piercing, sea salt soaks are recommended-- but someone told me that using eye saline is okay [just the stuff that's like, salt, water, and some other whateverwhatever chemicals]... is that really true or do the obscure chemicals in the eye saline irritate the piercing even more?

oh, and i don't mean the saline that's like, for storing soft contacts that has all those protein removing chemicals. just the saline that's to refresh your eyes.

Answers:

The saline that you buy in large bottles for contact lenses should contain nothing but saline, and maybe some plain preservatives. Those bottles are used for rinsing out your eyes, so I think if they're ok for using on the eyeball itself, it's not going to irritate a piercing.

I work in a pharmacy and I've sold it before for new piercings, never had any complaints.
