Different things can trigger acne. It's usually caused by high hormone levels in the skin which makes it difficult for your dead skin cells to shed. This causes a rush of white blood cells to the skin and voila, you have a pimple.
Remember to watch your diet as well, limit sugar and drink 6 -8 glasses of water a day. I think clearasil has the best spot treatment, neutrogena scrubs are quite useful, but I would reccommend proactiv (although its very expensive).
