My son is 8yrs old and is constantly hyper 24/7, how to handle this ?!

Question: My son is 8yrs old and is constantly hyper 24/7, how to handle this ?
My son has been showing signs for the past year or so of having a hyperactive issue. He is an A honor roll student, in accelerated classes, plays baseball, and soccer (has plenty of physical activity), for instance while calling out his spelling words he will be up and down out of his chair, spinning on the floor, under the table, or dancing around the kitchen. At dinner, samething every night. He also does the same things when being spoke to. And this is everyday, doesnt seem to be affecting his school work at all but it is frustrating at times. As long as something has him occupied (tv, computer etc...) he can sit still with no problem. Have been questioning for a couple of years now if he actually suffers from a hyperactive disorder or is just being 8yrs old ????

Answers:

Sounds pretty hyper to me. Then again my son used to be like that and he didn't have ADHD or ADD. I would have a doctor investigate this if you are bothered by it and if he is like this in school. It also could be that he is allergic to something he eats a lot of like wheat. Allergies can affect you in many ways.

I hope this helps.

Knowledge

he probably has an hyperactive disorder. i have a slight one. so when i cant focus i start to move or if i feel the need to do something i tap my foot or snap. my dad use to give me coffee when i was little and minutes later i would be asleep. energy drinks calm me down. idk but its weird. seeing a doctor should help but talk to him. try to get on his level and just talk to him.

Stop the caffeine, chocolate and probably foods containing red dye, and make an appointment with the doctor.

He is 8 years old, take into account almost all kids go through a phase of being extremely hyperactive. He will calm down with time.

Please do not take you're kid to the docter to get him A.D.D pills,

I am 15 and used to take those, took almost every single one of those pills in the book. Yea, they calmed me down, but all of them had horrible emotional/physical effects on me. Im not a minority that reacts badly to the pills either, almost everyone who takes A.D.D medicine says they feels like a zombie 24/7 and that is no way to live life.

Give it time, until then try to find positive ways to help calm him down. goodluck
