Has any one gone in to surgery to correct their scoliosis?
This summer I'm going to be having surgery on my spine to correct the curve in my back. They also have to fix my rib cage/shoulder blade so that its not as deformed.
Has anyone had this surgery or anyone you know? Any advice would greatly help!

I have had numerous surgeries on my back, scoliosis being one of the reasons. My advise is....be prepared for the post-op pain. Also, my doc has me on a combination of Lortab (or Vicodine, whatever I want) and valium. The valium works with the Lorbab to stop the muscle spasms you will definately have. Make sure you get a walker as well. Its much easier to get around the house when you get home. If you need any other info, please feel free to contact me.
