i broke my toe(yr ago) ever since then i have had a messed up toenail with fungus, calcium deposits, ????....its white crap growing underneath my tornail (any1 no what this is???) and it is also becoming deformed and painful. I am going to have the nail removed but so it still grows back..... im 16...... what is the recovery, will i need crutches?


Answers:

No, you won't need crutches.

Recovery varies from doc to doc but you will have the bandage remain on the to anywhere form 18 hour to 5 days before it is removed. Soaking 1-3 times a day and using aything for corticosporin ointment to antibiotic cream to amerigel with a band-aid is what is usually done. you will be able to use normal shoes after the initial dressing is removed. Wear open toes flip flops/adidas-type sandals when you go in to have it done.
