Question:

Is there a such thing as having a negative test for herpes , but you are told that you have antibodies?

Can anyone understand that diagnosis or what could that mean for someone?Does it mean that they have a the disease or what exactly does it imply?

Answers:

If you have ever had cold sore or the chickenpox you can have antibodies for the virus.

Since cold sores and chickenpox are both caused by the herpes simplex virus, and there is no cure for herpes, the virus becomes dormant in your body, and you are still able to have antibodies for it.

Kids who get chickenpox never really get rid of the virus, it just become dormant. It can also flare up again later on in life which causes shingles in adults.

Don't worry about it too much. You are perfectly fine!
