My 3.5 year old son has a lump on the back of his neck.?!

Question:

My 3.5 year old son has a lump on the back of his neck.?

My 3.5 year old son has a lump on the back of his neck. It is hard (but not really hard) and a bit squidgy to touch although the whole thing moveswhen you try to feel it.

He has had it for 6 months now that I have noticed but it seems to be getting bigger. I have had him at my local GP twice and have seen a different doctor each time but still am not totally reassured that it is nothing to worry about. Each time I have been advised that it is probabaly just a swollen gland. I can appreciate this may be the case if he was under the weather however would it be there all the time?

What are the best questions for me to ask when visiting my GP to make the most of my visit?

Answers:

You should get it checked before anything. My cousin had a lump when it was younger, and when he turned 7 more lumps started to grow. Turns out he has leukemia.
