Answers:

You can schedule an appointment with your Doctor for a routine checkup. He will most likely order labs, but if he doesn't then you could ask. Just tell him that your curious about your health. No Doctor can deny you that right. If his clinic has a lab then he would be able to order the lab work and have it done right there, if he doesn't have a lab you would have to go to the lab he sends the workup to.

I just read the post above mine. While I agree that most Doctors will ask you for a reason to have such blood work done, I've noticed that most people who come into the lab for workups have actually requested them for themselves. More than likely when you ask to have your blood work done, they will send you to a lab (either in house or somewhere else) because the general atmosphere of a patients room in a clinic isn't set up for the phlebotomist or nurse to take your labs. Most phlebotomists would agree that, while drawing blood can be done most anywhere, a chair with an arm rest and supplies right on hand are the most accommidating way to get labs. I also wanted to point out that it usually takes only one puncture to get a blood work up but they may need to take several tubes of blood from you. What I mean is that the phlebotomist or nurse would have to stick you one time (unless your a hard stick) and then they would use that to draw your blood into several containers used for the many different tests that are out there.
