....acne...?!

Question:

....acne...?

Ok, so I have acne on my upper back and shoulders...and thats it. Im' really self conscious because of it. I won't were a tank top or swimming suit because it will show. I'm going to summer camp on July 30th and I would really like it to be gone by then. I can't afford Proactive at the moment and several people told me it doesn't work anyway. I also don't want to go to a dermatologist. Is there any products that actually work but arn't extremely expensive. I am also open to home remedies..such as toothpaste or lemon juice. I haven't tried those yet and I would also like to know if they work..from experience..thanks and million!!!

Answers:

If you have body acne, it's important to make sure you shower every day and use a product like Neutrogena body wash that is formulated to fight body acne. Also keep your hair clean as well, because grease or hair products (hairspray, moose, etc.) can get on your skin and cause breakouts. I suggest changing your bed sheets pretty frequently as well (maybe 2-4 times a month), because oils from your body can get on your sheets and pillowcase and lead to further breakouts. You should also take a women's multivitamin, drink lots of water (and no soda or really sugary drinks instead of water), and get exercise several times a week. This will help your body flush its system naturally and prevent further breakouts. Acne is often genetic and it's sometimes very hard to fight no matter what you do, in which case it's best to see your doctor and get a prescription acne medication, like an antibiotic or topical cream that you apply to your skin, even if you don't want to. If it comes down to that, a short visit to the doctor can be well worth it to have clear skin and feel pretty and confident. (It doesn't have to be a dermatologist either; just a regular family care physician can prescribe something that will work for you). Best wishes!
