Testicular Cancer with no visible lumps?!

Question: Testicular Cancer with no visible lumps?
I am a 39 year old male. I have been having dull pain around my lower abdomen. This has been on and off now for around 4 - 6 weeks.

I originally thought it could be testicular cancer as my testicles sometimes felt heavier than normal.

I also have the pain in my lower abdomen - it feels like I have been tensing it up, like I have been lifting weights(I haven't!). It's not a constant pain but I am aware it's there everyday.

I DID go and see my GP, and he had a feel around the area but couldn't see or feel ANY lumps. He also did a urine test which came back negative.

The pain is generally there 24x7 but it ranges from very very mild to slightly uncomfortable and dull. Everything else (down there) works normally (bathroom wise and sexual wise) and there's no loss of sexual desire or anything.

The doctor said that it's very unlikely to be testicular cancer as its actually quite rare for my age group and also the fact that there was no lump or anything. His diagnosis was that I've probably strained a muscle down there (unbeknown to me) and he said thats quite common and it could take anything from 6 months to heal?!

He's advised me to just wait it out as it's probably nothing.

I'm still getting these pains now (saw the doc last week) do you think I need a 2nd opinion or go and get a scan to see if it shows anything?

Answers:

No lumps, no cancer. Has he ruled out a hernia, if so it could be muscular strain and can take a long time to clear up.
Stop worrying.

You don’t have testicular cancer, you have no reason to think you do.
Clearly you do not trust your doctor, so get another opinion.

I am a cancer registrar.

I agree with your doc. I assume he ruled out hernias too, so that leaves muscle strain. I've had that and it takes several weeks to clear up.

i dotn know, get ti checked out
