It sounds like Diabetes to me. When I was diagnosed with it I had dropped almost 10 pounds, I was drinking so much water (& oh the urine thing . . .). I felt so tired. When I went in to see my doctor within 5 minutes she told me I had it. I was matching everything on her chart. I got the option of taking myself to ER or having an ambulance come and get me @ her office.

I was hospitalized and 5 years later I am on an insulin pump. Learning I was a Type 1 Diabetic at the age of 32 wasn't spectacular but it is reality (at first they thought it was Type 2 but . . .). I don't eat candy (sugar things) anymore and have learned to watch what I eat to avoid having my bsl too high. I fight a constant battle of too high v. too low but I am healthy and doing everything my doctor encourages me too.

A1C is the blood test done every few months to see how your BSL is doing - it helps the doctor learn whether you are getting enough/not enough insulin.

Good luck I tell ya - but never, never, never cheat yourself out of anything!

It could be a thyroid problem, some of your symptoms sound like hyperthyroidism (hunger, weight loss). See your doctor and get blood tests.

personal experience

Stop eating sugary foods. If you drink soda, drink diet soda.

sounds like diabetes. just relax and wait until your test results come back :)

Kellie don't drink diet soda. It contains aspartame which is a dangerous sweetener that causes brain damage and makes diabetes far worse. Avoid soda at all costs- a can of coke contains 10 heaped spoons of sugar. Drink lots of water. At least a litre a day, and buy a water filter. If you must drink a sweet drink drink pure fruit juice. A vegetarian diet is also a good idea. Processed meat and milk are bad for heath. Soya milk is a far better replacement. Avoid fast foods also as they are full of chemicals.
