How likely is it that a person can die when they get a heart transplant?!
Question: How likely is it that a person can die when they get a heart transplant?
Obviously they die when you take their heart out, but how likely is it that they won't wake up when they get the new heart? How long does it take them to get better?
Answers:
Survival rate is 85-90% at one year after transplantation.
They should have recovered in that first year.
They don't die when they take the old heart out, they are hooked up on a heart-lung machine which takes over the circulation until the surgery in completed...
They dont take ther other heart out......they just make room for another one
