What would you say about a person who thinks he deserves cancer?!

Question: What would you say about a person who thinks he deserves cancer?
Suppose a person keeps saying that he deserves to get cancer, so he does things to himself that are known to cause cancer. What would you say or think of him?

Answers:

well according to the bible we all deserve death and hell , but for some reason god loves us so much inspite of ourselves , the fact is we are all dying of sin whether it is cancer or heart disease or a accident or a huge list of other ways to die as you know , jesus is the cure to death , and more
importantly spiritual death

I would remind that person that nobody knows what causes cancer; the finest scientific minds in the world whose life's work it is to find out don't yet know what causes cancer, so it's unlikely that he does.

Are you talking about somebody who actually has cancer, or somebody who doesn't have it but says he deserves to?

If it's someone who actually has cancer, you should bear in mind that he will have been bombarded with advice and misinformation from people who know nothing about cancer. It's very easy to make a cancer patient feel guilty, and therefore worse. Many will search their minds for things that they might possibly have done to 'cause' the cancer, and many people who haven't had cancer find it less scary to put cancer down to avoidable lifestyle factors - blame the victim - rather than accept that cancer is a largely random disease that can affect anyone.

If it's someone who doesn't have cancer but keeps whinging that they deserve to - I'd avoid their boring company and if necessary tell them to shut up and stop being stupid.

I would feel bad for him.
I would comfort him as much as I could.

I'd say

"Everyone does bad things and makes mistakes. No one on this Earth deserves cancer, or atleast the ones with a good heart. You might think youre a terrible person, but no matter what your past is, I still care about you."

Not a damn thing. I have no legal power-of-attorney over his body unless he gives it to me.

The most I could do for him would be to try and persuade him to seek spiritual or psychiatric help.

He probably deserves it

he needs a friend.
