What is aortic stenosis?!
Question: What is aortic stenosis?
Answers:
Aortic stenosis is when the aortic valve doesn't open all the way. It's the valve that leads to the aorta which is the main artery that carries blood out of the heart. So when the heart pumps, the valve doesn't open all the way so the blood flow is decreased.
Aortic stenosis (AS) is the obstruction of blood flow across the aortic valve. Aortic stenosis has several etiologies including congenital unicuspid or bicuspid valve, rheumatic fever, and degenerative calcific changes of the valve.
