Why do i get Vertigo feeling dizzy?!

Question: Why do i get Vertigo feeling dizzy?
I've been feeling good then all of a sudden i wake up today out of bed and i felt dizzy bad. I came back home from taking kids to school lied back down, and in an instant i closed my eyes and felt like the whole room was spinning. Felt somewhat like those carnival rides that make you so dizzy. I had to open my eyes and wash my face. I feel lightheaded. I haven't felt normal today. I've barely started taking these vertigo pills my doctor has prescribed but i don't feel any better. Why do i feel this way is it normal. FYI it's not everyday this happens to me the last incident was last year. I'm afraid to close my eyes. I feel drunk but i don't drink i don't do anything. I eat right and take care of myself.

Have you had a cold recently? If it moved into your middle ear it won't necessarily cause pain, but it could cause the dizziness you are experiencing. When I was in high school I went through a month or so with similar symptoms. I was so dizzy I would often fall over, and got to the point that I couldn't walk without holding on to someone or something. I went to see my family doctor, neurologists, had all kids of tests done, they put me on valium, and was just miserable. On a whim my mom took me to a different family doctor. She immediately found a middle ear infection. I took a round of antibiotics, and was better within a couple of days!

I hope this is all it is for you, too. Feel better soon!

I have had MANY middle ear infections since I was a teenager.
