Question: When was the whooping cough immunisation/vaccination introduced?
Answers:

Whooping cough (B. pertussis) vaccine was first invented in 1906 by Jules Bordet and Octave Gengou, It was refined during the 1920s in the US by Dr. Sauer. Dr. Madsen conducted the first widescale immunizations of a whole-cell pertussis vaccine in 1925 to control outbreaks in the North Sea. In 1942, an American scientist Pearl Kendrick developed the immunization combination we use in the US today by combining the whole-cell pertussis vaccine with diphtheria and tetanus toxoids (DTP). That combination was further refined into the DTaP vaccine in the 1980's..
