How fast can strep throat symptoms show?!

Question: How fast can strep throat symptoms show?

I had to walk home in rain and now i am worried i have strep cause i woke up with sore throat constantly having to clear it and its only been about 9 hours since the walk... is this possibly strep or just a cold? i can't afford the hospital.
