Axillary mass. I know this term refers to a mass in the arm pit region which I h!

Question: Axillary mass. I know this term refers to a mass in the arm pit region which I had 20 years ago?
It was a build up of infection in the lymph nodes which needed surgery to be removed. What caused it was unknown. I now have the same type mass inside my inner thigh the size of a baseball which I can move side to side. What would be the proper term for this? I have no insurance or income as my health has become rather poor, possibly because of this mass, so I want to research what I can before I go to the doctor. With no insurance Im not about to let them run me around draining my money just to tell me what I already know. Thank you for any advise or info.

Answers:

I have to agree with Denise it does seem odd that the doctors would remove a lymph node mass rather than treat it. You may want to enroll in Medicaid to get coverage. It will pay for your treatment should you need it for whatever this lump turns out to be. You do qualify as you are no income etc Call your county unemployment/social services dept and get the ball rolling on signing up for medicaid it only takes a month or so to get enrolled(unless you are in Texas where they have basically de funded the program) --- Good Luck.

How can doctors drain you of your money to tell you what you already know, when you know nothing?
No one can tell you the proper term for a mass in your thigh as you cannot be diagnosed over the internet. And it is very odd for a doctor to removed lymph nodes for “build up of infection”.

I am a cancer registrar.
