Question: Am I Having An Asthma Attack?

Okay. First of all let me just say this has barley happened today. I have been having a very difficult time breathing. I woke up and just really couldn't breathe. I also kind of have the flu so i don't know if it's just bronchitis. I have difficulty breathing, mucus when I cough, and every time I try to take a huge breath, I have to cough. My chest is beginning to hurt and every time i breath i hear this little noise in my chest or my throat. I'm really scared cause i don't want to get asthma. What should i do. I also had a hard time sleeping last night but i barely had shortness of breath today. Could this be asthma or just bronchitis. I'm 16 and really scared and do not know what to do. Please help. I have never been diagnosed with asthma. However, my dad has atshma and he has an inhaler. What would happen if i took some. Cause i am having shortness of breath.

It is sunday and i don't think the doctor is open. Am I having an asthma attack? Can I die? Please Help!

Answers:

First of all you should let your parents know. If it is something serious then they can get you to a doctor or hospital.
Also, drinking lots of water will help to thin mucus so it is easier to get it out.
A vaporizer will help also.
I usually also take vitamin C. It will help to boost your immune system.
I actually just went through this myself. I have asthma but mine was a sinus/ear infection due to weather changing cold/warm/cold here in Michigan.
Talk to your parents asap. That is the best advice
