If I take 8000 iu of vitamin A daily...?!

Question: If I take 8000 iu of vitamin A daily...?
How fast will my skin clear up? I have moderate acne, and I am careful of sticking to my facial care routine- however, I still have acne! After learning that Accutane is just megadoses of vitamin A, I thought I'd try some regular, safer, smaller amounts of vitamin A. I am starting to take it tomorrow, and my clear skin goal is Friday- reasonable or no?

Answers:

I would have to say no it is not the same thing. Accutane actually reduces the production of oil by reducing sebaceous glands, therefore preventing blemishes to occur. It also decreases cell build up leading to whiteheads or blackheads, kills acne bacteria deep inside the skin, and reduces inflammation. However, vitamin A will most likely help minimize your acne it will still come back. If you are really concerned about your skin and how it affects you then I suggest that you go see a dermatologist. He or she will give you the most accurate information and can prescribe you a safe and effective treatment. I just started Accutane five days ago and I can already see a difference. I know a few people that had the Accutane treatment and their skin is absolutely perfect! Something that will help[ aid you in your journey to clear skin is your diet! Cut out sodas and minimize sugary drinks, try and avoid greasy and fattening foods! Drink a lot of water! :) I wish you luck!

Hypervitaminosis is the only thing you'll get...
