Question: Is this pneumonia or just a lung infection?
Ive had this for about three days now, I first noticed it when every time i had a cigarette my lungs would feel weird - i stopped smoking the end of the first day. The second day I couldn't breathe through my nose at all and my lungs hurt whenever i inhaled and the pain increased every time i coughed - there was some gurgling and phlegm in my lungs but no where near as much as there was when i had pneumonia last year. Now today I can breathe through one nostril and my lungs do not hurt as much as before. I have been coughing much less, and can cough out any phlegm in my lungs. Over the counter cough meds are also doing wonders for me.

Go see your doctor to get a chest x-ray to see if you have pneumonia. Stop smoking forever. It is harming your lungs, and you can't live without them. If you are not afraid of lung cancer, just think about emphysema.

You have a chest infection, similar to pnumonia! go see your gp he will prob give you a course of augmentin of your sputem is green/brown. If you have a temp this is a good sign of infection, plenty water, paracetamol and stop smoking. if its REALLY bad get a blood test to see how high your CRP is (infection markeres) also send a sputem sample for testing. You also may just have a common cold and for this you DO NOT need antibiotics
