normal blood sugar? still all the symptoms?!

Question: Normal blood sugar? still all the symptoms?
I saw the Dr just now with some of the blood sugar readings he asked for.
He didnt say much but asked me to keep testing for a while ...after, before meals/exercise or when I feel weird or sick (I only have just over 24 hrs worth of testing so far)
After one meal my sugar stayed at 7.9 (140) for a few hrs, but then after another meal it shot up, then I went for a walk for 1/2 hr and by then it was back down. Could this be why I'm having so many symptoms and problems? from the dramatic change even though its in normal ranges? my fasting this morning was 4.4 which is normal and my highest so far is 7.9 which is normal. Is there a term used for sensitivity of sugar which causes symptoms of hypo when sugar drops back down. I'm relived they are pretty normal but Its making it harder to understand why the symptoms?

Mind you while Ive been testing I haven't had any 'episodes' of severe shaking/shivering/trembling that I usually get. the Dr and I both expected my sugar to be in the lower threshold of normal not the upper.
I've been tested for just about everything and its costing me a fortune. Next app is a neurologist and WOW that's expensive not to mention in another city.

so any help is much appreciated,
sorry to those who have read or answered quite a few of my questions about this. It seems the more results I get back the more confused i get.

so I guess my main question is... how fast should a normal blood sugar rise and fall? and can constant fast rise and fall cause the symptoms of high and low sugar? and can it cause problems or damage?

Answers:

Read some diabetes sites such as http://www.phlaunt.com http://www.diabetes.about.dom for more information about diabetes in general.

7,9 IS NOT normal!!! That is way high for too long.

I test:
fasting - when I first get up
before meals
90 minutes to 2 hours after finishing a meal
at snack time
before exercise and immediately after
at bedtime

rapid changes in glucose levels will not damage you or cause too much stress if you don't let it.

any consistant readings of over 126 will damage small blood vessels and nerves in toes and fingers and eyes.

AACE the american endocrinologists association wants to lower the reading to 110 mg/dL as diabetic and put all those persons on medication. Or maybe that is the big pharma that has half the world on statins and hypertensive lowering medications?

My advice is...listen to your doctor, not some random strangers on the internet.

There are at least a couple of real MDs who frequent this area, but I haven't seen them around. I HAVE seen people who believe that diabetes can be cured, and a lot of spammers, and some people who think that they know everything there is to know. And all of them are happy to give bad, even dangerous, advice, except for the MDs.

Follow your doctor's instructions, and go to the follow up visits. He's trying to find out how YOUR body reacts to various things. Just a day of testing isn't nearly long enough to establish a pattern.
