Question: What are filling suppers like chili that I can have for a good blood sugar?
I am a controlled type 2 diabetic that really likes a big bowl of supper. So far turkey brats and kraut and chili are my favorites because I can have a good size meal. I need more options. ps no rice, no noodles.

I'm a fan of lentil and barley stew. Two bowls is only 40 grams of carbs.

I start by browning some bacon bits, then saute a sliced onion, crushed garlic, and some spices (rosemary, sage, thyme, bay leaf, black pepper) in the bacon fat. Add 70 grams of lentils, 36 grams of barley, and two cups of liquid (I usually use half chicken stock, half water), bring to a boil, reduce to a simmer, and let cook for 50 minutes. Really good, and really filling.



Google search: "No starch diet recipes", "Low starch diet recipes" and you'll find what you need to reverse diabetes. "IBS no starch recipes" will give you a lot of insight too.

Salt, grain/starch an dairy are keeping you sick. Completely eliminate these items from your diet and you'll be healthy.

Salt was useful as a food preservative, but it's time has long passed. We have refrigerators now and don't need salt anymore.

I see that you prepared to avoid starch/sugar. That's great!

I recommend that you buy dark meat chicken (it has more minerals than white meat and stews better). Vegetables, meats and fruits are you friends.

Herbs and spices will make or break a meal. Buy curry, oregano, garlic, basil, bay leaf and lemon to season food.

When shopping, only go the the meat, herb and produce section of your grocery store. Everything else is full of preservatives, starch and salt that will continue to make you sick.
