Why aren't more people educated about the difference in type 1 and 2 diabet!

Question: Why aren't more people educated about the difference in type 1 and 2 diabetes?
Answers:

Because other people aren't diabetic, and it doesn't concern them. Of course, it is very frustrating. I noticed that one answer said, "How much do you know about other disease?" I've always wanted people to be educated, and I could name well over 30 different types of cancer to you, and about 50 other diseases that I know. I am a medical freak, but, still, people need to be better educated.

I agree with the other answers, but I also think part of its the media's fault. They hardly ever mention which type of diabetes they're talking about...they just say "diabetes" What good is it when the media says "overweight people have a higher chance of developing diabetes"

I also think that some people think they already know the difference (when they actually don't). What's the point in finding the right answer when you already "know you're right?"

type 1 diabetic

because if you don't have it, it's not improtant to you.

I have a life treating allergy to latex, and practically no one even knows it exists. People don't care of they don't have it.

Because the medical "authorities" put lots of confusions on it and the drug companies are just trying to get people to buy drugs.

for the same reason they aren't on any disease
only interested in what affects them

Because they're not diabetic. How much do you know other diseases?
