Wholemeal and Vitamin D3 good/bad?!

Question: Wholemeal and Vitamin D3 good/bad?
Wanted to know as last time my aunt went to the doctor she was told that she had no Vitamin D3 in her body, therefore her body is not absorbing the calcium which she takes. She has been given tablets containing both calcium and Vitamin D3 now. However, she recalls that another doctor before she met before told her not to eat wholemeal as it would affect the Vitamin D3 intake or something.
Therefore, question is, if anyone knows, how does wholemeal foods affect the Vitamin D3?

Thanks in advance

I would think just the opposite. The more you abstain from processed foods and stick to the more natural foods, the more likely your body is to make and/or utilize the vitamin D.
