Question: What causes random bald spots on ones head?
My husband is suddenly getting small bald spots about the size of a dime on the back and side of this head. What could be causing this?

Alopecia areata can cause what you describe. See the dermatologist.
Psoriasis can cause this. Is the spot itself kind of scaly? If so, Nizoral shampoo from the doctor works really well (the kind you can get in the shampoo aisle doesn't seem to work that great but it might be worth a try).
stress and certain medications can cause baldness in patches.
